A Great Parkbag

A Great Parkbag

If you are going to invest in anything to take with you on your vacation, make it a really great backpack like this one. The North Face makes really great bags; their value is actually beyond their price in our opinion. Bags like this are very roomy, are not bulky, and most importantly they are amazingly durable. We have a backpack much like this that we have been using for years. It has been used almost every day for the past 5 years, and looks as new as the day we bought it.

Mesh Tote

Mesh Tote

A frame-less laundry bag like this mesh tote is a great little addition to your packing list. It gives you a place to put those dirty clothes from the park, without worrying about damp clothes being unable to dry. This one folds up really small and weighs virtually nothing, so it fits neatly into your luggage with no extra headache. A definite must for your vacation!

Backpack Cooler

Backpack Cooler

Planning a picnic? Saving money on your Disney vacation by carrying your own lunches into the parks? This bag makes it easy! Forget about dragging a cooler or straining your lower back by carrying it around at the hip. Start carrying your lunches on your back! This cooler pairs nicely with other backpack we recommend because it allows you to keep your cold items from getting moisture onto your extra shoes and clothes. It also helps to distribute all of your park essentials between two people.

Packable Towels

Packable Towels

These towels are lightweight, super absorbent, and fold very small. Use them after water rides, to dry off benches or tables after a storm, to wipe down in the middle of a hot day, or to dry off your child after they run into a splash pad or fountain. There are many colors and sizes available for every member in your family.

Compression Bags

Compression Bags

Space saving bags like the Compression Sac by Eagle Creek can be such an asset to you on your vacation. A handful of these can make the difference between checking a bag and fitting everything into a carry on. Most varieties offer a level of water resistance as well, which makes them a great addition to your parkbag as well as your primary luggage. We use them to keep our extra clothes clean and dry when we are on vacation. You won't regret using them!

Wipes

Wipes

Let's be candid: public restroom toilet paper is never ideal. Save yourself the irritation and pack some wipes. They're also great to use in the middle of a hot day when you want to clean up, but don't have the time allotted to shower every two hours. These will make your trip better.

Sunscreen

Sunscreen

Because it's a bad idea not to. We prefer the spray varieties because they go on more evenly and are less messy to deal with. Just make sure nobody is downwind of you when you use this, or you will be in for some dirty looks. These are six ounce cans, so they are not eligible for carrying on a plane. There are three ounce options available, but they do tend to be way overpriced. Remember, most places you travel to will have sunscreen for sale, but they will inflate their prices dramatically.

Aloe

Aloe

Even if you plan on wearing sunscreen, be prepared. You are going to forget to reapply your sunblock at least once, whether you get wet or simply wait to long to do so. We've linked to a 36-pack of one ounce tubes, so you could bring these items in your carry-on luggage. You could also choose to hold out and just buy some aloe if you need it, but the selection you find is going to be meek and overpriced. Pop it in the fridge in the morning and experience the sweet relief at day's end.
