Here at the Everday Magic Blog, we love to eat -- we even have an entire blog post each week dedicated to that love. And there really is no better place to eat than Walt Disney World! From the snack kiosks to signature dining, to munching "around the world" in Epcot, the options to entice and entrance abound!
If you and your family are like us, you will probably want to set aside time for some sit-down meals during your stay. I mean, burgers and fries can get a wee ho-hum after a few days. If you want to take a break from the busy parks, a great way is to head into the air-conditioned tranquility of a table service restaurant.
Now, if you're unfamiliar with the dining set up at the happiest place on earth, let me break it down for you. The Walt Disney World restaurants are broken into two main categories: Quick Service and Table Service. At Quick Service, you walk up to a counter, order your food and then wait near the counter for your food. These restaurants are speedy, and are perfect when you just want to grab a meal before your Fastpass for Splash Mountain. In contrast, Table Service restaurants are just what the name implies-- you sit at a table and a waiter takes your order and brings your food. These kinds of restaurants are great when you want a longer break in the day. Both have their merits, but my tip this week concerns the Table Service restaurants.
Popular restaurants, like Be Our Guest in Disney's Magic Kingdom, are routinely full. The best way to ensure that you and your family get to experience the wonderful dining at such restaurants is to make Advanced Dining Reservations (ADR). These can be made up to 180 days before the first day of your vacation. While scheduling a meal six months out might sound preposterous, it allows you to have the most choices for restaurants and meal times.
Bonus tip: To reiterate, you can make ADRs 180 days before the start of your vacation. That means, you could potentially make ADRs 184, 187, or even 194 etc. days out, depending on the length of your stay. If you don't find a suitable meal time at your top choice, try looking for an ADR farther into your stay, you may have better luck since not as many guests will be able to book yet.
