Disney has just rolled out some changes to the Fastpass+ system. Guests can still make up to three reservations for attractions using the MyMagic+ app prior to their vacation. But now, after using the first three, guests can head over to a Fastpass+ kiosk in the parks or use the MyMagic+ mobile app to reserve another Fastpass+ time. These subsequent fastpasses are made one at a time, just like the old fastpass system. You can also now reserve Fastpass+ times for an attraction in another park, so you can park hop with your fastpasses.
A day at Walt Disney World could now look like this:
Start the morning at Magic Kingdom with a Fastpass+ for Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, Pirates of the Caribbean, and Splash Mountain (our Magic Kingdom favorites!)
Reserve a fourth Fastpass+time for Expedition Everest at Animal Kingdom
Make a fifth Fastpass+ reservation for Soarin’ over at Epcot.
Make a sixth reservation, this time for Rock 'n' Rollercoaster at Hollywood studios.
Make a seventh reservation for Dumbo back at the Magic Kingdom before Wishes.
Of course, you can see plenty of other attractions between your reservation times, and you had best plan to eat some great food while you're at it (especially when in Epcot!). In the future, we'll write more posts about planning a 4-park day as well as planning single park days, or even no-park days at Walt Disney World.
We’re looking forward to experiencing the improved Fastpass+ system. Hopefully, a spontaneous trip is in our future! Let us know what you think about the changes being made to fastpasses in Disney World. Do you think this will improve guest experience, or make your day all about running for another fastpass like before?
